In September Italians and tourists return from their vacations, many festivals take place the first two weeks of the month as summer comes to an end. You'll still find small food festivals throughout Italy during the month of September, look for la festa or Sagra, where you can usually sample inexpensive regional food hand made items, truffles, wines cheeses and many other products made locally. That is the main reason why I like to visit my old country in September, My favorite place is Cervia which is in the province of Ravenna , where the restaurant takes its name " Villa Ravenna" another very important consideration is the time were the grapes are harvested for delicious wine making. “Sagre in Romagna” is the first Italian website given to all the festivals and local fairs of this great region. On this website, sponsored by the Region Emilia-Romagna, the Tourist Board and the three Provinces in Romagna, you can find the list of all the events, weekly updated.
The most interesting events are reported in greater detail on their own separate page. It is possible to rate each event and leave your comments. As well as the website, there is a guide book to the festivals and local fairs in Romagna "Guida a Sagre e Feste della Romagna", published in March every year, printed in 40.000 copies and available at newsagent’s and bookshops. Free copies are sent to Towns, local associations for tourist promotion, and festivals organisers. Registering an event in the database is free of charge. http://www.sagreinromagna.it/sagretutte-agosto.asp |
